The Week began with the ‘Then- Now-Forever’ themed show that had all the grand finale designers who have showcased their collections in the last 10 years, including Ritu Beri, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Suneet Verma and other big names, showcasing their creations at the opening show and walking the ramp. It was mesmerising to watch the fashion divas and gurus walking the ramp together and Tarun Tahiliani concluding the anniversary show.
Dwelling on the changes that the LFW has witnessed over the years, designer Anita Dongre, who was back after a gap of two years, said, “It has become more professional. The organisers are making it easy for young designers to get a foothold in the industry and also for seniors to showcase their creations.’’
Anita created an illusion of grand colours on the ramp with her collection `Jaipur, My Jaipur’ for the Spring/Summer show of the LFW. She showcased the prints
and colours of Rajasthan, mostly in tie-dye prints. Though known for sober pastels, she went all colours lighting the ramp with brilliant coloured lehengas, skirts, churidar-kalidar kurtas and saris, which received a huge round of applause.“Colours dominate the lives of the people of Rajasthan. Being from Jaipur, it was natural of me that I play with colours in my recent collection,’’ said the diva. |
